Krøyers Plads wins Architizers A+ Award 2017

‘Krøyers Plads’ has been selected as a Jury Award winner of this year’s Architizer A+ Awards in the category Residential-Multi Unit Housing – Mid Rise (5-15 Floors).

The Architizer A+Awards is the largest awards program focused on promoting and celebrating the year’s best architecture and products in more than 100 categories, and is judged by more than 400 luminaries and thought leaders from fields as diverse as fashion, publishing, product design, real estate development, and tech.

Jury Award winners are selected by jury members only, while online public votes determine Popular Choice Award winners.

Sustainable, award-winning design

‘Krøyers Plads’ are Denmark’s first eco-labelled residential buildings, and earlier this year the project won the prestigious Green Good Design Award 2017, awarded by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

In 2015, Krøyers Plads won a MIPIM Award in the category Best Residential Development.

The five-story housing project has a significant location in the center of the Copenhagen harbor area. It was based on a hyper-democratic and contextual approach where folded roofs and architectural heaviness create a dialogue between old and new and a modern, empathetic interpretation of the architectural uniqueness of the old Copenhagen warehouses.

The project is designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects and Cobe.
