Joyn Hotel Copenhagen

Industry, multifunctionality and harbour views merges in a new hotel concept in Sydhavnen.

Joyn Copenhagen breaks with the traditional perception of staying at a hotel, as guests can stay here for one night or six months with cleaning, towels and bed linen included in the price. In everything from layout, materials and facilities, the hotel is designed with a homeliness that challenges the traditional and should make guests feel like residents. It provides the best of the hotel experience and adds the possibility of a homelike everyday setting.

The 12,200 m2 hotel with a total of 248 rooms is located directly next to Copenhagen Harbour, the port environment and a metro station within walking distance.

The hotel is part of Joyn’s international portfolio in Vienna, Zurich, Frankfurt, Bremen, Hamburg, Madrid, Düsseldorf, Munich, Krakow and Cologne.

The facade is characterized by simplicity with its tactful facade. It stipulates requirements to details and propositions.

“The combination of the fine woodwork, raw concrete and brick creates contrasts and authenticity. We have worked with robust, simple materials so that the architecture is completely clear, ”

Industrial and homelike atmosphere in new apartment hotel

Guests’ first encounter with the hotel is a bright entrance hall and a reception area with a relaxing atmosphere that reflects a private residence.

On the ground floor is a restaurant, cafe and a co-working area that creates space for creative expression, inspiration and sparring across industries and work areas. There is a meeting room, as well as space to both work independently and work together – and the hotel has direct access to the harbour bath. The rooms are decorated more like apartments than traditional hotel rooms, and each apartment has its own workplace.

Raw materials and contrasts show kinship to H.C. Ørstedsværket

As a neighbor of H. C. Ørstedsværket, Joyn’s architecture refers to the industrial expression in the area. There are reddish-brown tiles, sedum roofs and aluminum windows that mimic the old cast iron windows in the area’s old industrial buildings.

Also seen inside, where there is a consistent rawness in the untreated concrete elements that stand in contrast to bright, friendly spaces.

The total area of the new Joyn Hotel is 12,200 m2 divided into 248 rooms, which vary in size. According to the plan, the hotel will be ready in 2023.
