On 1 May 2018, Gyrithe Saltorp takes up her position as the new Managing Director of Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects A/S. This is the result of the decision by the current Managing Director, Søren Daugbjerg to step down as a partner of the company.
With the appointment of Gyrithe Saltorp as the new Managing Director, we will be increasing our focus on the development of client relations and the optimisation of tools for up-to-date, efficient and productive construction processes.
Gyrithe Saltorp has many years of experience in the construction and property industry, in both the public and private sectors. Her most recent position was as Director of the Danish Building and Property Agency.
With her extensive experience as a developer and her long-standing cooperation with the industry, we fully expect our new Managing Director to challenge and contribute significantly to the streamlining of our future forms of cooperation and processes.
‘We regard it as a natural step in the development and professionalization of VLA to combine the dedicated professional focus, which has characterised the company from the outset, with an enhanced focus on running, and particularly developing an architectural firm at a time, when the industry is undergoing extensive transformation, and when the perspective of the client is more relevant than ever’, says Søren Daugbjerg.
‘With Gyrithe on board, we can look forward to daily challenges, making sure our methods and results are understandable and useful to the developers we have as clients.’
‘The strong, professionally qualified experience in business development and management that Gyrithe brings to VLA will mean that the partners have more time to spend on the professional management and development of the practice’s on-going projects and competitions’, says Søren Daugbjerg.
Gyrithe Saltorp says: ‘There is an element of poetic justice in the fact that I am moving from a role as a developer to a role as an advisor. Building is undergoing rational development, with a focus on new collaboration methods and tools. I consider it a privilege to continue making an active contribution to this process. Developing buildings from the perspective of the architect and advisor is an exciting challenge, and I expect we can learn a great deal from one another and come up with excellent, robust results’.
Dialogue and cooperation are cornerstones of Gyrithe Saltorp’s approach to any form of cooperation. In the construction and property industry, she is a popular speaker, who likes to paint a crystal clear picture of what the challenges, lessons, and solutions are.
Gyrithe Saltorp is 50 years old. She graduated with a Law degree in 1993 and started a long-standing commitment to the construction and property industry in what was then ‘Slots- og Ejendomsstyrelsen’.
After a number of different jobs in the agency, in 2006 she joined the private sector as the Commercial Director of what was then Dan-Ejendomme (now DEAS A/S). She then took up a position as CEO of PG Property Management A/S. In 2009 she returned to the public sector as Director of Københavns Ejendomme. From 2015, Gyrithe Saltorp was once again employed by the state, when she became Director of the Danish Building and Property Agency. She left this position in late 2017.
We are looking forward to further developing the practice together with Gyrithe.
