LYNGHOLM SCHOOL
FARUM
4th September 2009 - Furesø Municipality inaugurated the extension to the new Lyngholm School. VLA was the architect of the building, which is classified as energy class 1.
The new 3,000 square meter area contains 12 classrooms, a mediatek, teacher’s room, after school facilities and workshop. The extension provides space for an additional third track at the school.
The extension is constructed by modules and has - aside from a low cost per square meter - only taken four and a half months from building permit to completion. The modules were produced at Scandi Byg parallel with the construction of the building foundations.
Energy Class 1 standard is achieved through effective insulation, use of geothermal heating and energy saving light bulbs and motion sensors that ensure a low power consumption. These resource-saving measures are meant to be used actively in the teaching.
