NOISE SCREEN, COPEHAGEN AIRPORT
The screen was formed as a self-supporting mesh. The structure did therefore not require a primary system of columns and beams, but on the contrary a system of slim steel profiles which functioned structurally themselves. The curved side of the screen was clad in glass. The glass cladding ensured that the existing terminal system would still be visible from the landside. The convex sides of the structure cause noise reflected off the screen to be spread, therefore creating a calm acoustical environment adjacent to the screen.
