LYNGBY HOVEDGADE
On the wedge-shaped site between Lyngby Hovedgade [Lyngby High Street] and the S railway, VLA is developing a new commercial property with great visibility and of high aesthetic and functional quality.
The buildings will be arranged as a series of stepped-back blocks, each block increasing in height and of varying length laid out in a gated area. The blocks will be linked by a continuous ground floor allowing access to the blocks above. The three ground floors linking the blocks in pairs may be joined by glass corridors facing the north and the railway, establishing the possibility of a unitary headquarters or, alternatively, rentals incorporating two or more units.
By keeping the buildings at a low height as they meet the residential housing to the south, the proposal respects the existing building scale, while reinforcing the architectural idiom through the gradual increase in the number of floors from two in the south to five above the base to the north.
