DET NORSKE VERITAS

The proposal by VLA and HRTB for the extension to Det Norske Veritas headquarters in Høvik, Norway, locates Veritas 3, comprising five independent buildings, south and east of the company’s existing premises.

The concept of five independent buildings, which will be linked by light pedestrian bridges, is advantageous in several ways.
It ensures plenty of flexibility in the extension as a whole, and smaller units enable the gradual, varied expansion of the existing complex.

Smaller, compact buildings with the least possible frontage and excellent use of daylight also provide plenty of opportunities to establish an innovative, sustainable site with low energy consumption.
The division into several individual buildings ensures spaciousness and transparency that will allow the landscape to remain a considerable feature of the overall structure of the complex.
