LYNGBY SØPARK
The buildings are laid out in a fan formation which opens towards Lyngby Lake and simultaneously creates a spine and noise screen towards the S-train track and the bypass road. The fan formation can be continued to the east and follows therefore the municipality’s overall urban planning concept. The residential units are oriented north-east and south-west. The floor to floor height varies from 4 to 5 floors.
The project is architecturally robust and the overall development has a park-like appearance whose scale is adjusted to the adjacent multi-story buildings. The park functions as an organizing element providing views both to the fort canal and to Lyngby Lake. Individual, more intimate wind-protecting courtyards (green wedges) can be created through further development of the park. The concept provides the opportunity to design regular, future-oriented residential units with good views and daylighting conditions. All residential units can be executed with daylight on two sides. The building height varies from 4 to 5 stories, with the lowest buildings complimenting the height of the neighboring buildings to the west and south.
