ZERO ENERGY HOUSING
TÅSTRUP
Working closely with civil engineers Orbicon Leif Hansen A/S and Boligselskabet Lejerbo, Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter have developed a series of social housing units with a zero energy classification, i.e. with an energy consumption of < 1 kWh/m2/per annum for heating, electricity used by utilities (ventilation, central heating plant, hot water tank, etc) and utility heat loss but not including lighting, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Parkvej Tåstrup
6 disability-friendly zero energy social housing units are to be built in Tåstrup in 2011.
Sustainable approaches
Highly insulated ground platforms, outer walls and roof design.
Windows and doors with low U values.
Solar panels and arrays, heat pumps and ventilation plants using heat recycling.
Structure of timber, interior walls and ceilings of plaster, wooden floors, rendered frontages.
Description
The project consists of six one-storey houses to be built as semidetached units in East Tåstrup as part of an existing estate with blocks of flats featuring shared facilities and a nursery school. They utilise the direction of the sun to the full, with halls and kitchens facing north and living rooms and patios facing south.
Construction
At present the design is for lightweight construction using rendered facades, timber/composite windows, galvanised steel balconies, and zinc flashings. It will be put out to tender as a turnkey project with the consultancy team attached as clerk of works. It will be built in 2011.
