In connection with the World Low Cost Airline Congress Copenhagen Airport was awarded the prize for best low cost airport.

The CPH 'dual airport' strategy and the building of the low cost CPH Go finger was a major contributory factor to winning the accolade. CPH Go is a product developed in cooperation with Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter, who were responsible for the concept, design and consulting.

The winners, CPH, have built a modern, efficient facility proving excellent service and opportunities for low cost airlines, the panel stated.

Other nominees included airports at Marseilles, Sharjah, Kuala Lumpur, Hyderabad, Ibaraki and Singapore.

CPH Go was commissioned on 1 October 2010 and is currently being used by EasyJet.
