VLA in cooperation with VLA og Karlson arkitekter, have prequalified for the design completion for the new aggregated psychiatric hospital in Slagelse.

The competition was announced by Region Zealand and consists of a new c.44 000 m2 building with proviso for 190 beds to be allocated to general psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and security. For long-term patients there will also be provision for everyday activities and pastimes as well as a sports hall and swimming pool.

In addition to VLA and Karlson Arkitekter the entry was prepared in collaboration with med Signal Arkitekter, Schönherr KS, Moe & Brødsgaard A/S, NNE Pharmaplan A/S, Cenergia Energy Consultants, and Merete Nordentoft.
