Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects has just prequalified for the limited design competition for the major expansion of Herlev Hospital.

VLA is overall consultant for the competition entry with architects Jens Clementsen under the team name of MEDICOR. YLP arkitekter, GHB Landskabsarkitekter, Lemming & Eriksson, ÅF and Jacobs Engineering Group are subconsultants.

MEDICOR is one of five consulting teams to prequalify.

The commission will cover architectural, landscape architectural, and civil engineering services in connection with new construction for the women and childrens hospital, emergency admissions, landscaping and multi storey car parking facilities and will be worth around DKK 1.65 billion.

The competition also includes the visualization of an overall plan for the site a as a whole with a view to plotting possible future expansion and traffic flow.

Construction will take place over the next five or six years.
